Cisplatin Study Metrics
The authors reported on results of Phase III clinical trials conducted to determine whether or not treatment with pemetrexed AND cisplatin results in greater survival time than treatment with cisplatin alone. The study examined 456 patients and involved medical facilities in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, and United States.
Cisplatin Study Results
The results showed almost a 3 month gain in survival time for those treated with both pemetrexed and cisplatin. Additionally, the authors noted patients had far fewer adverse affects when given vitamin B12and low-dose folic acid.
